TITLE: Health & Safety Coordinator

COMPENSATION: $50,000–$55,000/year, depending on experience

HOURS: Full-time, 40 Hours/Week

JOB SUMMARY:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County provides in-school, afterschool, and summer learning opportunities and services to youth throughout Utah County. Under the direction of the Deputy Director, the Health & Safety Coordinator evaluates program and staff safety; monitors and visits programs; leads the Club’s safety committee; and makes safety recommendations and improvements.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

  • Evaluate both employee and program safety relating to children and youth by conducting site monitoring visits at program locations in Utah County, Heber, Beaver County, Cedar City, and St. George.
  • Create safety action plans for programs and staff to improve organizational safety practices.
  • Assist program directors in implementing safety policies within their programs.
  • Oversee the Club’s Safety Committee.
  • Prepare stakeholder reports and make safety recommendations to the organization.
  • Reinforce policies and procedures that support the organization’s safety goals.
  • Support program staff as needed with safety and health administration needs
  • Other duties as assigned

BREAKDOWN OF TIME:

  • 40% on-site evaluating sites and supporting safety needs
  • 25% preparing reports and paperwork
  • 15% meetings
  • 20% traveling between sites

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management, administrative, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of desktop publishing and basic computer applications
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and be attentive to details
  • Professional and welcoming demeanor and attitude
  • College degree preferred
  • Travel to locations throughout Utah is required
  • Must have reliable transportation and a Utah Driver’s License. Mileage will be reimbursed for travel between locations.

OTHER INFORMATION:
If hired, the applicant will be required to work a set schedule Monday through Friday. The applicant must also successfully pass a federal fingerprint and background screening.
