Individual/Small Group

Do you have a special skill like painting or boxing? Share your skill with our kids through a workshop or workshop series.  This would be good for one or more volunteers and could be done monthly or quarterly. IMG_0241
Teach young people financial responsibility and money management skills through a series of personal finance workshops.  This is good for 1 to 3 volunteers and has a flexible schedule. MONEYMatters_MdLogo_102510
Help youth explore different careers and find their passion through a career presentation, job shadow, or guided tour of you workplace.  This is good for 1 to 3 volunteers and can be done anytime. academics (1)
Partner with Americorps members in local schools to do STEM activities and show the members the potential for great futures in STEM.  This is good for 1 to 3 volunteers and can be scheduled anytime. Untitled-4

Medium Group

Help kids succeed in school.  Tutor our youth after school at one of our Club sites in subjects like reading, math, science and social studies.  This would be good for 3 to 10 volunteers and can be done at anytime. IMG_3044
High-Yield Learning Activities incorporate learning into fun activities like board games, pool, cards and more.  If your group can think it, our kids would love to play it!  This would be good for 2-3 volunteers and can be scheduled for anytime. IMG_0156
Volunteers can help prepare candidates for our annual Youth of the Year competition by mentoring candidates on interview and speaking skills.  This would be good for 3 to 5 volunteers and would be from November to February. YOY 2

Large Group

Volunteers choose their favorite book to share with a child.  After reading to one of our kids, they can donate the book to our Club library.  This is good for up to 20 volunteers and can be done anytime (after school hours). IMG_2417 copy
Put on a party, carnival, or water day for one of our clubs.  Plan some fun activities or stations, and bring toys, prizes and treats.  Our kids and your team will have a blast!  This is good for up to 20 volunteers and can be scheduled at anytime. photo 1
Help us keep our Clubs clean and beautiful.  Choose an outdoor or indoor project for a large group (volunteers should provide basic cleaning supplies).  This is good for 10 to 50 volunteers and can be done as needed. Clubhouse crop3
Help us renovate a vital Club room like the Gym or Game Room by painting, cleaning, assembling furniture, etc.  This would be good for 15 to 20 and can be done at anytime.  
Provide hundreds of kids with valuable supplies for school and home – past drives have included backpacks, school supplies, clothes, personal hygiene supplies, healthy snacks and summer supplies.  This is good for 20+ volunteers and can be done anytime.  
Use your creativity.  Whether it’s playing kickball or building robots – share what you are passionate about with our kids.  You decide how many volunteers you’ll need and when to do the project.
