Purpose: More and more of America’s youth are entering high school, college, and the work place without the money management skills needed to ensure financial security and well being. Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County wants to help its Club members achieve Great Futures by teaching money management skills at all levels.
Responsibilities:
- Teach at least one 30-60 minute class per week for a semester (12 weeks)
- Meet with one of Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County’s administrators regularly to report on your class’s progress and needs
- Use Boys & Girls Clubs and other financial literacy materials to plan and prepare fun and educational lessons
- With the assistance of Club staff, make sure all Club members participate and understand the role of money management in their lives
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- Reliable transportation to travel to teaching site(s) and administrative office (report meetings; collect materials)
- Basic knowledge of money management skills, including banking, saving, budgeting, and credit
- An engaging personality that will get youth excited about wise money habits
Preferred Qualifications:
- College degree (or in pursuit thereof) in economics, education, business, or related field
- Spanish speaker
- Teaching experience, especially with large groups of young people
- Demonstrated proficiency in money management
